I had always wanted to try Mitsouko because of finding it mentioned in literature from the 1920s, or taking place in that era. I considered it a sister of Shalimar, which i loved. Unfortunately, the Mitsouko just isn’t right for me. It’s a pleasant scent, but very powdery and “old lady”; Something that the Dowager Countess of Grantham would wear. Also, the tiny spritz on my wrist permeated the house for hours before settling in to a pleasant floral aroma. It’s truly a classic, but I prefer something more up-to-date and less intrusive.
